Diwali - the festival of lights
Written by Arohan Banik Diwali is an Indian festival. It is all about festival of lights. It needs lots of preparation. In Diwali, we do rangoli, we make a lot of foods, we light up dias (lamps), we decorate our house with LED lights, we make dias with paper and we blast fire crackers. During Diwali, in Kolkata, people celebrate Kali Pujo. People go to pandal to meet God Ma Kali. People also go to many pandals to pray other Gods. They eat food from restaurants. Children play and have fun. There are lots of LED lights around the streets. I miss Kolkata so much during Diwali. In this festival, we wear Kurta Pajama. The Kurta Pajama is a type of traditional dress we wear in every Indian festival. The traditional dresses make you more spectacular for puja celebration. These also make people understand that we are Indians. This time, Pranay and Shweta joined us for the celebration. They gifted me a yellow car, and I got surprised.
